Seiko QXM223BRH "Classic Dropping Dial" Melodies in Motion Musical Moving Wall Clock

Behold, Seiko's elegant QXM223BRH Melodies in Motion clock, nicknamed the "Classic Dropping Dial". It was released in 2009 as a replacement the widely-popular QXM123BRH, which featured various Broadway show tunes. It had to be discontinued due to copyright issues, alongside many other Seiko and Rhythm clocks that played “popular” melodies. The distinct design and oddly-satisfying movement of this clock make it one of the most unique timepieces that Seiko has ever produced. At the top of the hour or when the demonstration button is pressed, the clock dial drops completely down to cover the pendulum, revealing an extraordinarily captivating display of motion. The door in the center opens up, revealing a dancing flute player, while the multicolored LED lights hidden beneath the stained glass windows put on a stunning light show. The flute player sways back and forth as they “play” an excerpt from one of six classical pieces. The decorative Swarovski crystal pendulum swings continuously.

Notes: This clock is truly a masterpiece…and this one is in amazing condition for its age with only a handful of small marks around the case (most notably on the bottom, which is not visible when the clock is hung on the wall). It’s worth noting that you can hear the motor running faintly during the introduction and ending, but it’s very normal for this specific model as it requires a stronger motor to move the dial up and down. I have cleaned the battery compartment as there was a small bit of leakage, but I have ensured that all wires have strong connections. Otherwise, the clock works and performs great!
